Blackhawk Novice Tie Season Opener
The Point Edward Blackhawks Novice team opened the 2012-2013 season on October 13th with a hard fought 4 to 4 tie visiting the East Lambton Eagles White team in Watford.
The Eagles came out hard in the first period going up two goals to none. The Blackhawks responded late in period one with goals from Owen K and Ben C. Thomas G picked up an assist on Owen K’s goal while Ben C’s was unassisted. Still in the first frame the Eagles pulled out ahead scoring to make it 3 to 2 at the end of the first. The Eagles added to there lead in the second period with another goal. The Blackhawks didn’t give up and pressed late in the second resulting it a second goal from Ben C assisted by Thomas G and Brendan B. 18 seconds later Nolan W scored assisted by Nicholas H to even up the match once again. The third period produced no goals as the teams played tight defense with the Blackhawks net keeper duties shared between Peyton B and Ryley C. The Blackhawks Performance Player of the game was awarded to Owen K for his work at both ends of the ice.
