Instructional Hockey 2014/2015
I hope everyone is looking forwarded to their first weekend of hockey we have many things to look forward to this year.  It is going to take some time to get things organized on the ice but it will all come together in the coming weeks.

Make sure you have completed The Respect In Sport clinic online if not I am sure Jane has been in contact with you.  If the Course is not completed your child can’t go on the ice.

I have a few things I need to let know about, I will try and remind you about these dates as the time get closer. You can also check the pointminor.ca website for information about instructional hockey.   Our schedule is posted on the website and there are a few weekends that we don’t have hockey because of tournaments at the Point Edward Arena.

If everyone can take a minute and visit the pointminor.ca website and review the head injury policy before we start the season.  I hope we don’t have to deal with this issue this year but I think it will keep our kids safe so it is important if the issue does arise.

Also, the OMHA is looking for a copy of every child’s birth certificate.  If you could get a copy bring it to the arena this weekend I will pass them on to the PEMAA to send to OMHA.

Please find attached an advertisement for a Mouth Guard Clinic being held by Dentistry in the Point (Dr. Rocca).  If anyone can’t attend the clinic to have a mouth guard made, I understand they do them by appointment as well.  Of course some families may prefer to use their own dentist or purchase the brand mouth guard, whatever work best for your situation. As I am sure all of you are aware mouth guards are mandatory.

Nov 9th has been booked for hockey pictures.  This will take place during our regular ice time on Sunday.  Order forms will be made available on our website for parents to download in the next couple of weeks.

On Nov 22nd we will have spirit day.  I am not sure what this is all about just yet but I will forward you more information about this when it becomes available.

Lastly this is will be very exciting for the boys/girls we have booked the opportunity for the kids to attend the Sarnia Sting Game on Sunday February 22nd at 4:05.  The kids will have the opportunity to High Five all the Sting Players as they go on the ice for the game in the Fan Tunnel.   In the first intermission they will be playing a scrimmage game on the ice for about 10 minutes.  Tickets for this are $6.00 for kids 3 to 12 and $16.00 for adults if we sell 100 tickets or more the adult price goes down to $14.00.  We need to sell at least 60 tickets as a team in order for this to happen.  You can buy tickets for your families, grandparents, aunts/uncles and friends or whoever wants to come cheer on our instructional hockey team during the intermission.  I will be sending out an order form for these tickets in the coming weeks and I will be collecting all the money because this is a group event.  In the mean time if you can find out who you would want to attend this game so we can get our tickets that would be helpful.  The Sting are playing the London Knights that afternoon so the game will sell out well in advance I am told.

As always if you have any question or concerns please let me know and I will try and get an answer for you.
